Last week, we announced the Name That Slider contest to spark some creativity and good-spirited fun among our awesome fans. We were looking for names that fit our Flatout Fresh motto of providing fun and fabulous ideas for the whole family. To make the contest even more exciting, we offered up one lucky winner FREE Flatout products for an entire year!

During the first phase of the contest, we asked contestants to submit a photo of themselves or a family member holding a sign with their suggested name written on it.

Then it was time for phase two, where we uploaded entries to an album on our Facebook page. We were SO impressed by our Fab Five contestants that we had to share them on here, too!

Emily – Flatout petitEats: pint-sized FOLDits

Karla – Flatout Fold-a-Bit

Tracy (and son Thomas) – Flatout Mini Flips

Mandi (and son Brenden) – Flatout Fold ‘n’ Slide

Kristin (and daughters Caitlin and Kelsey) – Flatout Flip-ems

Once our Fab Five were on Facebook, they encouraged friends and family to “like” their photos. The contestant with the most “likes” by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2010 would be the winner.

It was a GREAT race! All of our contestants had such creative and fun photos that it was difficult for our voters to choose! In the last half hour, it became a friendly battle between Mandi (@AWelbaum) and Tracy (@JustTracyB) on Twitter – and we were all holding our breath to the finish line!

The race was, in fact, so close, that up until the very last minute there were just a handful of votes separating the two ladies. We’re still learning the ropes of running the best contest we can –  and although we originally thought Mandi had won by three votes, we realized after further review that Tracy pulled ahead by one vote in the end. Our apologies go out to both ladies, who were wonderful sports about the entire experience.

And so, an honest mistake led to an honest solution: Mandi and Tracy are both winners in our book! The race was so close – and both women were so dedicated! – that we were more than delighted to award both ladies and their fabulous sons free Flatout for a year.

Congratulations, Mandi, Brenden, Tracy and Thomas!

We’ve officially moved past rookie status in the contest world – and look forward to sharing more fun and exciting opportunities like this one with our fans in the future. Next time, we promise a more steadfast judging criteria will be in place. 🙂

Thanks to all of our Flatout fabulous participants!

We’d love to hear your fresh perspective!

  • If you still had a chance to Name That Slider, what would you choose?
  • Do you have any contest stories to share? We’d love to hear them!
  • What is the most creative or crazy thing you have done to enter for a chance to win?

Bon appetit!

I am not commenting on the contest–just wanted to tell you that I am 76 and have just tried your sun dried tomatoe flat bread. It is wonderful and please dont stop making it as I am using it for every occasion I can think of–breakfast, lunch and dinner bread–I butter it, sprinkle with garlic powder (only time that I use the power) sprinkle it with parmesan cheese, cut it in quarterd, fold, wnd, wrapped in wax paper heating in micro approx. 15 seconds or until warm–again thanks so much for your flat bread, dont stop and I will ell everyone about–is there anything else I can do for you? I will speak with my store manager and tell him not to stop carrying it–OK? SD

      Hi Sandra!

Thank you very much for the kind words about our sun dried tomato wraps. We definitely have no plans to stop making it any time soon! We enjoyed reading about all of the combinations you’ve tried with it so far – and look forward to continuing the conversation!

      Have a great weekend!
