Midweek Date Night? That’s Flatout Fabulous! {Video}

Sure, it’s the middle of the week.

But what better excuse to take a night off from obligations to rent a movie and dine in?

When considering the various recipe options available on our site, I came across this recipe for Fontina and Portabella Flatout Thin Crust Pizza. Immediately, the idea of a video came to mind!

My fiance prefers a little more protein with his pizza, so I added diced chicken to his for an extra kick.

Hope you enjoyed my demonstration! Below is the official recipe from our website. It promises to make date night more interactive and exciting. But I don’t recommend doing what I’ve done in the past: start the pizza, engage in interesting conversation and remember the pizza once your smoke alarm goes off!

Trust me – it’s happened before. 🙂

Fontina and Portabella Flatout Thin Crust Pizza

  • 1 Flatout Light Flatbread
  • 1 tsp olive oil cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup fat free balsamic vinaigrette dressing
  • 2 cups Portabella mushrooms, sliced 1/8″ thick
  • 1/4 cup Fontina cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup part-skim Mozzarella cheese, grated


Preheat outdoor grill. Marinate mushrooms in balsamic vinaigrette for 10 minutes. Top Flatout with mushrooms and Fontina. Place Flatout on grill for 4 minutes at medium heat with lid closed. Remove and cut into slices.

Alternate Cooking Options: Cook lightly oiled Flatout in 350°F oven directly on grate for 7 minutes. Remove, top with mushrooms and Fontina. Remove to oven and cook for 7 more minutes. Cut into slices and enjoy!

Take a break from the normal schedule this week and set aside time to catch up on that movie you’ve been wanting to see, or those television shows you’ve had on your DVR forever. Add a Flatout pizza to the mix and you’ve got yourself a great date night!
