Lose Your Summer Buns with Flatout FOLDit

Summer time: the season of bathing suits, beach attire, pool parties… and yes, barbecues. Let’s face it: as much as we want to look great this summer, we also don’t want to compromise favorites like burgers and brats. Thanks to Flatout FOLDit, you can now feel great about eating your favorite BBQ foods!


Flatout’s Artisan FOLDit Flatbread 5 Grain Flax contains 100 calories, 3 g of fat and 8 g of fiber! With nutrition facts like that, there’s no reason to deprive your burger or hotdog of bread. Most hamburger buns contain twice as many calories and less than half of the fiber that FOLDit provides. We’ve listed some of America’s favorite buns below for comparison:

Regardless of what you’re grilling, the FOLDit’s shape is great for additional condiments and toppings that normally slip out the back of other traditional buns – making them perfect to load up!

A personal favorite of mine is grilling chopped up veggies (green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions is a great combo), and throwing them in the FOLDit with my burger or grilled chicken. It adds great flavor for very few calories. If you want to be extra health conscious, cut your burger or grilled chicken patty in half, and supersize your veggie load to compensate for the half of burger or chicken you didn’t eat!  To truly enjoy your food the guilt-free way, better to fill up on healthy condiments such as grilled veggies and lean meat than a bun full of empty calories.
