Healthy Back-to-School Lunch Options: Her Royal Highness’s Chips

October 8, 2010

She is the youngest of our four, but that does NOT stop Miss Emily from being the center of attention.

In fact, she won’t settle for anything less.

Mom is making lunch for the big kids. WHAT?! Emily MUST have hers, too. There will be none of this ‘mommy making it’ business either. Emily is a pop-star-princess-dancer and did we mention, chef? This week she helps me whip up a little pre-school fare for her snack time.

Healthy Lunch Menu 20

Her Royal Highness’s Chips

  • One Flatout Wrap*
  • Cookie Cutters

Step One:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step Two:

Lay the Flatout wrap flat on a cutting board. Press cookie cutters into the wraps. Pull away the edges of the wrap to leave just the fun shapes.

Step Three:

Place shapes on a greased cookie sheet and place in oven at 350 degrees. Bake for 4-6 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

*Flatout Crisps can also be used in place of baked chips.

Vanilla Yogurt Dipping Sauce

  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Honey
  • Vanilla
  • Orange zest

You’ll notice that Emily and I accessorized with a little pink bling in the form of our aprons from Childs Play Design. Since this is our last feature with Flatout I’d love to offer one reader an apron from Childs Play Design.

Enter to win your own apron by leaving a comment below telling us about your favorite healthy snack. Comments must be left by 11:59 pm on Friday, October 15, 2010 to qualify.

Thanks so much to Flatout not only for hosting our healthy lunch ideas but for being a DAILY part of our family’s healthy eating plan!

OMG! Emily-You did a really good job helping your mom make snacks! I will definitely give some of these to Drevyn when he is old enough.

Great video! I love flatbread & hummus but will definitely try that vanilla yogurt dip you made – looks like it would be great with the crisps and also with fruit.
    Thanks for sharing!

I can’t believe what little helper Emily is! Fantastic job! We love our flatbread burito’s with egg white’s, avocado slice, chunky salsa and shredded cheese. Thanks for sharing your ideas, we’ll have to try the hummus.
