Breakfast Solutions For Your New Year Resolution

According to Psychology Today, over 50% of adults in North America will make a New Year’s resolution. Of the ten most common resolutions, four are health related. There is no doubt that January brings a fresh start, which is a great time to incorporate more healthy meals into your diet. This week we’re featuring great breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes for the New Year. Hopefully some will catch you eye and allow you to meet all your health-related resolutions!

What better place to start than breakfast? Here are our favorite healthy recipes to kick start your day!


PBJ with SBG Flatout Wrap

PB&J with SBG


  • 1 Flatout® Light Flatbread
  • 1 Tbs reduced fat peanut butter
  • 1 Tbs sugar-free jam
  • 2 strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 banana, cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 Tbs low fat granola


Spread peanut butter evenly over entire Flatout. On one rounded end, spread jam. Layer strawberry, banana and granola. Roll, cut and enjoy!


Apricot SmoothieSource

Fitness Magazine’s Apricot Smoothie


  • 3/4 cup  calcium- and vitamin D-fortified soy milk
  • 4 canned  apricot halves (packed in juice)
  • 2 tablespoons  orange-juice concentrate
  • 2 tablespoons  toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 your choice of nuts
  • 1 banana


In a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients together. Enjoy!


Flatout Scrambled Egg Wrap

Flatout Western Spinach Scrambler


  • 1 Flatout® Light Flatbread
  • 1 tbsp green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp scallions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp shredded Mexican Cheese
  • 2 slices Canadian bacon


Sauté peppers, Canadian bacon, and scallions until tender/crisp. Pour eggs over veggies and scramble. Add cheese. Wrap in warm Flatout and enjoy!

    PB&J with SBG sounds really good. It’s easy enough to make too. I’m too lazy to get up and cook eggs for the other one.

    I’ve been making a breakfast wrap for years, have recently discovered the Flatout wraps and love them!! I use the whole grain, spread some low-fat cream cheese, flavored or plain. Then I cut a banana in half lengthwise, place it on top of the cream cheese. Cut up some berries – strawberries are my fav, place them alongside the banana. Sprinkle with some granola for crunch, fold it like a burrito, wrap it in a napkin (berries tend to be juicy) and I can eat it on my way to work.
